The winemakers - Quinta do Olival da Murta

The story of Vinhos Serra Oca is told by 5 cousins who decided to continue the legacy of their grandparents by producing wine at Quinta do Olival da Murta, a property that naturally passed down to their mothers.

The estate is located on the northwest slope of the Serra de Montejunto, 80 km from the city of Lisbon. It comprises 20 hectare of vineyards with clay-limestone soils, producing a total of 10000 bottles in limited and numbered editions. They practice organic farming, using only a selected 20% of the total grape production for their wines.

Their wines are made entirely from Portuguese grape varieties such as Castelão, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz for reds, and Fernão Pires, Arinto and Moscatel Graúdo for whites.
Harvesting is done manually and the grapes are vinified in a simple manner. The absence of chemical products combined with a slow and natural winemaking process results in unique and authentic wines.
