The winemakers - Giovanni Menti
The Menti project was founded in Gambellara, Italy, by Giovanni Menti in the late 19th century. It is a family project that has passed down through several generations until reaching Stefano Menti, who from an early age showed an interest in biodynamic agriculture.
Since 2002, at Stefano’s direction, the winery has returned to a more sustainable style of viticulture, much like the approach embraced in the days of his great-grandfather Giovanni.
His goal is to craft wines that sincerely reflect their terroir, without compromise, to protect and enhance the estate’s natural resources, and to prioritize both environmental stewardship and consumer well-being.
This commitment sparked years of experimentation, study, and agricultural research aimed at achieving the sustainability and authenticity Stefano envisioned. As a result, he moved toward biodynamic practices, officially introducing them on the estate in 2010, and the following year obtained organic certification.
There are 7.5 hectares of Garganega and Durella vineyards on volcanic soils, cultivated according to biodynamic methods, and carefully tended.
The wines are produced through spontaneous fermentation and natural stabilization.
