The winemakers - COZs

COZs is the result of a partnership between two Portuguese winemakers, Tiago Teles (Gilda, Raiz) and António Marques da Cruz (Quinta da Serradinha).

In 2015, grapes from the abandoned vineyards of the iconic Quinta dos Cozinheiros, located in Figueira da Foz, were harvested, and two wines were produced using the grape variety Baga combined with a variety of white and red grape varieties. These grapes were grown in clay-limestone soils in organic production in an Atlantic influence climate. In early 2017, the duo acquired a 35-year-old vineyard in Serra de Montejunto, planted in clay-limestone soils with the Vital grape variety. Here, organic viticulture is also practiced.

Currently, COZs wines are produced mainly from grapes from old vineyards, many of which are located on the slopes of Serra de Montejunto, representing a wider range of grape varieties and profiles than the original Baga from Quinta dos Cozinheiros.
