The winemakers - Serradinha

 

The practice of organic production at Quinta da Serradinha dates back to 1978 when António Marques da Cruz's father discovered it at a fair in Montpellier. Several years later, in 1994, when organic production began to be regulated in Portugal, the estate obtained organic certification of its wines.


Currently, they continue to produce wine using organic methods, now under the guidance of António Marques da Cruz, the fifth generation of the Marques da Cruz family, pioneers in organic viticulture.


There are 5 hectares of vineyards, some planted in 1957, on clay-limestone soil on south-facing slopes in a climate with Atlantic influence that allows for the production of wines with refreshing minerality, aromatic qualities and complexity.
